Aurin™ „8 x“ MULTIPLE SOCKET OUTLET

Is an all-purpose multiple socket outlet with several sockets, the sockets are individually and independently controlled either directly, by timer or as a free selectable group (Master-Slave) that is connected to a power socket for electricity supply.

 

It is the first time that it is possible for a multiple socket outlet to control e.g. the PC that is plugged into socket 1 (Master) the active USB-HUB connected to socket 4 (Slave) and the monitor plugged into socket 3 (Slave) to be able to switch them on/off together while a wireless mouse is connected to socket 6 and switched on directly to charge, while at the same time the ISDN telephone in socket 7 is set to timer and is switched off from 11.45 PM until 7 AM and so on..

 

The control electronics in this form is a universal module for all internationally known socket norms with 115VAC – 60 Hz and 230VAC – 50 Hz +/-10% that can be combined.

 

Direct Control

It is possible for the user to control the appliances separately for daily use that have no on/off switch and therefore usually stay connected to the multiple socket outlet and use electricity even on standby mode or everytime they are plugged in and out.

 

Master/Slave

Furthermore it makes it possible for users to control freely defined groups that are plugged into the multiple socket outlet. As soon as the main appliance (Master) is turned on the defined sockets are automatically switched on.

 

Timer

It makes it possible for users to set timers for individual appliances whereby the individual sockets can be set to 3 different times. These can be set to daily, individual days or Mo-Fr whereby the shortest switching interval is 1 minute.

 

Profile

Profiles serve for easier application of recurrent switching situations and can be saved and recalled and activated promptly or with a 4-minute activation delay.

 

Internal lighting

The model with 3 very bright LEDs is for easy usage when plugging appliances in or out, where lighting is bad, the transparent plastic body provides some illumination. By using a button on the multiple socket outlet the lighting can be turned directly (pressing it once causes it to be switched on, pressing it twice turns the lighting off, a third press turns it on again and so on,..) as well as from the PC via the software Direct, Timer and as Master/Slave.

 

Reset button:

The reset button pressed briefly once, switches on all 8 sockets and the internal light. If the reset button is pressed briefly again then it returns to the programmed setting and turns the internal light off and so on.

If the button is pushed for 3 seconds then it resets and deletes all programmed settings and switches all 8 sockets on. (internal light is off)

 

Accessories

„Aurin“ offers 8-230V (115 VAC) protected sockets in 2 rows of 4 that are set directly, via Master-Slave or by Timer. The internal light with 3 very bright LEDs that are switched on directly, via Master-Slave, by Timer or manually by pressing the button.

 

Instructions for Aurin

Multiple socket outlets can be placed in hard to reach places (on the floor, behind a desk, behind appliances, in shelves etc.) the handling becomes an issue.

In the PC-USB configuration „Aurin“ is connected to the PC via USB cable and is controlled/switched/set using a Software.

Is the PC not equipped with an USB connection or „Aurin" is used for a different purpose i.e. with a Hi-Fi/video system or for something else then using the keypad controller with LCD-Display is ideal for controlling the multiple socket outlet.

 

 

Security and protection

Unused sockets are switched off.

A line filter is used to prevent high frequency faults.

There is protection from overvoltage for all sockets and cut off from the mains if there is an overvoltage.

Power activation: double poled rocker switch 230V/16A /illuminated, colour green

Line filter: Line filter consisting of two „Y1“ condensers (1nF), two „X1“ondensers (100nF)

Overvoltage protection: Protection by supply of the SIOV-varistors

System voltage movement: The eight System voltage movements (sockets) are switched by relay and the control of the relay is done from the central control module.

Control module

The control module contains the necessary electronics for the whole internal sequence control of the Timer, Master Slave and Direct control, the control of the relay and the internal lighting and records the control commands of the external programming part and processes it.

 

Operational programming part

The programming part contains the LCD-Display and the control buttons for manual operating. The processing alternates to the USB port,  when there is no computer programming requested but instead a manual programming.

The programming part is connected to the controls via a RJ11 connection and interrupts the USB connection. The control occurs from the numerical keypad (15 keys).
